Polar bears are dear to my heart and I am concerned about the impact of climate change on the species. I want to help raise awareness of their plight & empower children to become climate change activists. The Sunburnt Polar Bear is the 15th in my collection of award-winning childrens’ books.

Gorgeously illustrated, the book gently introduces children ages 3-7 to climate change and invites them to participate in creating a solution.  Written from the mama polar bear's perspective, this memorable rhyming story allows readers to see the sad consequences of global warming, leading to an impassioned cry for help from the polar bears.

It’s unusual to finish a kid's story without an uplifting ending, but there isn’t one yet. I truly believe there can be, and that kids have an important voice as influencers.  As Greta Thunberg says “Even though you are a kid, you can stand out and make a difference. Change needs to happen now.”

To empower young readers as activists we are including in the book

* An education page titled “What is climate change and global warming?”

* 5 tips to help the polar bears thrive

* A letter to the politicians that kids can copy or tear out and mail
